Best - I believe that this lesson plan was effective, because all of my students met the objective I was expecting from them. During my unit of oral reports, I was expecting to cover different types of oral reports. This oral report was based on a sale. Students are very creative, and this lesson was based on creativeness. I provided attractive articles that will motivate the students in the class to participate. The articles I provided were an iPod, iPad, iPhone, basketball ticket, a painting, trilogy of the Hunger Games novel, and a ticket for a famous artist concert. With these articles the students were able to stand in front the class and make their sale. The thing a love the most about this lesson was seeing the student’s creativeness in action. They were able to use the English language without fear or doubt. Students use the English language to communicate clearly during their presentation, and the rest of the students that were listening the presenter, were very attentive and responding. It was a fun activity and the students loved it, because what they were doing in class was attractive to them.
LEAST – I would say that my least effective lesson from the listening and speaking unit was the preparation of the debates, where the students had to write down their arguments cooperatively based on the topic and side. My plan was to make students prepare their argumentations before their reports. It was a good idea, but due to the lack of interest if the students in participate, I couldn’t achieve my objective it full potential. The students were having a lot of doubts regarding to what they needed to say or argument. I was present with each group during the class, but most of the students weren’t motivated. Next time, I will look for a video that will motivate them to debate. I was able to bring topic related to them, but for next time I will create a discussion class that they will bring up their own topics. These adjustments may change my results in a future.
