Diversity

Students now day are able to identify diversity in school, community, and society. Diversity is all around the world. We are diverse by race, culture, preference, goals, wealth, and more. My preoccupation is not being able to identify diversity. I believe that everyone can be able to identify the differences between humans. My true preoccupation is about understanding and accepting the diversity around us. As a teacher, I must be the role model that empowers students to understand and accept diversity. Thanks to my English department from the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao, I was able to see through diversity. What about the rest of the teacher candidates in our island? Will the teacher promote the students to understand and accept diversity? As a teacher graduate from UPRH, I will promote the acceptance of diversity in schools and community. As teachers, we need to create lessons that promote the cooperative work between students. The reason is for make student enable to work with other people, and accept different point of views. Classrooms where students understand and accept diversity are classrooms that will make a difference in society.
